Section 74
Registrar of Copyrights and Appellate Board to possess certain powers of civil courts
1 - The Registrar of Copyrights shall have the powers of a civil court when trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (5 of 1908), in respect of the following matters, namely,
1(a) - summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath;
1(b) - requiring the discovery and production of any document;
1(c) - receiving evidence on affidavits;
1(d) - issuing commissions for the examination of witnesses or documents;
1(e) - requisitioning any public record or copy thereof from any court or office;
1(f) - any other matter which may be prescribed.
